The 2015 HRW wheat harvest continues to roll as Colorado and Nebraska are now over 90% complete and Wyoming 75% complete (with only the higher elevations remaining to be harvested in all 3 states). Wyoming dryland yield is averaging 30 bu/ac (2.0 tons/ha) with estimated test weight averages between 58 lb/bu (76.4 kg/hl) to 59 lb/bu (77.6 kg/hl). South Dakota and Montana are over 50% complete. Early yield reports out of Montana indicate yields over 50 bu/ac (3.4 tons/ha) and test weights over 60 lb/bu (78.9 kg/hl). Idaho is now just over one-third done with harvest while Washington and Oregon are now 75% complete.
There are now 353 of an expected 530 samples in the lab, however very few were processed in time to be included in this week’s report (so values have not changed from last week). All Gulf Tributary samples have now been collected and are in various stages of testing and evaluation with a preliminary report expected in approximately 3 weeks.
