Harvesting of the 2020 HRW wheat crop is now in full swing from central Texas, throughout all of Oklahoma (apart from fast-moving rain showers in extreme NW Oklahoma Thursday evening). Harvest is now crossing into southern Kansas. Cutting was only slowed this week by extremely high winds (40 – 50 mph (64 km/h – 80 km/h) sustained with gust to over 80 mph (129 km/h) on Tuesday when the most powerful jet stream of the season and an accompanying low move south across the central US while a tropical storm moved north out of the central Gulf.
